Katherine Steele, Tutor - Support for Students with Dyslexia (no current availability - Autumn 2024)
kath@dyslexiago.co.uk
I work for myself (I created Dyslexia Go, inspired by Formula 1 - 'go go go' and the black and white chequered flag which shows all the clever drivers they have reached the end goal) as a Tutor specialising in helping Students with Dyslexia (Secondary) 1:1, based in the Guildford area.
I also work as a SpLD Study Skills Tutor, with University Students, for the DSA provider: Barry Bennett.
I went back to Education in 2003, after spending almost a decade in Marketing/Advertising. Following my BA in Education, I completed a PGCE, Early Years/KS1 in 2005 and have experience with children of all ages 0-18. My experience from working as a Primary teacher involved a lot of 1:1 teaching using resources and approaches to suit all needs, including SEND.
In the past, I have worked at Connexions (Secondary - 25 years) and as an Early Years/KS1 Teacher in schools, as well as running and teaching in daycare settings; and most recently as a Learning Assistant at a Specialist School, in Secondary.
I've always been interested in learning through whatever way works for the learner, and since finding out that my own child has Dyslexia, it's made me want to find out everything I can and to help others.
